Ik ben vereerd om te mogen aankondigen dat op donderdag 27 maart om 20:30 uur niemand minder dan Alex Finberg een Masters of Sloyd webinar voor ons verzorgd!
Alex is een geweldige lepelsnijder en docent uit Engeland. Hij heeft onlangs zijn mooie Engelstalige boek Spoon Carving: From Log to Spoon over lepelsnijden uitgebracht.
In dit boek deelt hij zijn 25-stappenplan, praktische inzichten over slijpen, decoreren en nog veel meer. Daarnaast vertelt hij over het proces van het schrijven van een boek: hoe zet je al je kennis en ervaring om in een helder en bruikbaar handboek?
Tijdens het webinar praten we over zijn boek, zijn aanpak en de lessen die hij in de loop der jaren heeft geleerd. Zoals altijd is dit webinar helemaal gratis, iedereen kan zich aanmelden! Het webinar wordt gegeven in het Engels.

Masters of Sloyd is een webinarserie waarin makers online via Zoom vertellen over hun ambacht. Masters of Sloyd is ontstaan vanuit mijn eigen belangstelling om meer te weten te komen over oude ambachten en de mensen die ze nu nog beoefenen. Ik vind het mooi om die kennis te helpen verspreiden in de moderne wereld, omdat ik geloof dat deze ambachten de hedendaagse mens, de producten die ze gebruikt en de natuur weer wat dichter bij elkaar kunnen brengen.

I’m honoured to announce that on Thursday, March 27, at 8:30 PM (CET), Alex Finberg, a fantastic spoon carver and teacher from England will be presenting a webinar for the Masters of Sloyd!
Alex recently published his very nice new book on spoon carving: Spoon Carving: From Log to Spoon. In this book, he shares his 25-step method, practical insights on sharpening, decorating, and much more. For us he will also talk about the process of writing his book: how to you turn all your knowledge and experience into a clear and useful guide?
During the webinar, we’ll discuss his book, his approach, and the lessons he has learned over the years.

Masters of Sloyd is a webinar series in which makers talk about their craft online via Zoom. Masters of Sloyd arose from my own interest in learning more about traditional crafts and the people who still practice them today. I like to help spread that knowledge in the modern world, because I believe that these crafts can bring contemporary people, the products they use and nature closer together.

The speakers during Masters of Sloyd give their presentation free of charge and participation is free for anyone. If you want to participate, just sign up below!
